As a prominent investment professional, Mr. Faus has managed over two billion euros of investments/divestments since 2001, mostly in prime Real Estate in Spain, France and Latin America and in Private Equity in Spain. Between 2001 and 2006, Mr. Faus was CEO and minority shareholder of HOVISA, a Real Estate company based in Barcelona and owner of Hotel Arts (operated by Ritz-Carlton). From 2003 to 2006 he acted as Iberian Managing Partner for Patron Capital. In 2006 he founded Meridia Capital Partners. Mr. Faus chairs the Board of Directors of Meridia Capital Partners, SGEIC, SA and is an Investment Committee member of all Meridia vehicles in real estate and private equity. At present Meridia Capital is actively managing Meridia II (Real Estate), Meridia III (Real Estate) and Meridia Private Equity I. Mr. Faus is also an active business angel in the Spanish start up arena, having invested so far in five companies under the umbrella of Mnext. From 2010 to 2014 he served as Director of Colonial, the largest public Spanish Real Estate company. Since 2016 he serves as Director of Indukern, a leading Spanish pharmaceutical company. Also since 2016 he serves as Director of Circulo de Economía, a leading economic think tank based in Barcelona. Between 2010 and 2015 he served as Vice Chairman at FC Barcelona where, from a non-executive role, he oversaw different areas such as Strategy, Finance and Marketing. Mr. Faus has won several awards, including the 2002 Deal of the Year by the International Hotel Investment Forum and the SAHIC 2011 award for best investor. Prior to his investment career, Mr. Faus worked as a mergers and acquisitions lawyer in the offices of J&A Garrigues (New York) and Cuatrecasas Abogados (Barcelona). Mr. Faus is also active in the academic sector. He assists different professors at Harvard, IESE and ESADE Business Schools, helping writing and imparting cases based on his own experience. Mr. Faus received a Law degree from Universidad de Barcelona, a Masters in International Law from Georgetown University and an MBA from ESADE Business School.
