Marcus was educated in the UK. He holds an MA in Law from Cambridge University and was also called to the Bar of England and Wales. In 2001, he participated in the inaugural Wharton Fellows Program. He started his business career with John Swire and Sons (HK) Limited in Hong Kong in a general management capacity before joining the private equity industry in the UK in 1988. In 1992, he relocated back to Hong Kong joining HSBC’s Asian private equity arm. In 2010, he co-led the management buyout of the firm from the HSBC Group. He was a Committee Member of the Hong Kong Private Equity and Venture Capital Association from 1996 to 2001 and a member of EMPEA’s Asian Council from 2015 to 2020. |
