Floris Pierik acts for a range of financial sponsors and corporate clients. Complex M&A and private equity transactions including buyouts and corporate carve-outs are central to his work. Some of his major deals include targets with operations on a European or global scale, often with a significant U.S. connection. Floris regularly advises on technology and energy transition M&A transactions and transactions in the manufacturing, chemicals, life sciences, and consumer goods industries. Key note transactions at Jones Day include advising: Arsenal Capital Partners on the controlled auction sale of IGM Resins group to Astorg; Gimv on multiple mandates including the investments in UDB, Joolz, and Snack Connection and the acquisition and controlled auction sale of Coolworld Rentals; Smile Invest on the acquisitions of SmartSD and Rovers Medical Devices; Aurelius Equity Opportunities on the €220 million controlled auction sale of Getronics Group, the €330 million controlled auction sale of Solidus Group to funds managed by Centrebridge Partners, and the controlled auction sale of Office Depot Europe in seven countries to RAJA SA; CDPQ, Fonds FTQ, and Solmax on the successful controlled auction bid for Ten Cate Geosynthetics; Fortino, Ventech, and other sellers on the sale of customer community platform InSided to Vista Equity Partners portfolio company Gainsight; Eurobio Scientific on the successful auction bid for GenDX; Fleetcor Technologies on the acquisitions of Plugsurfing from Fortum and PayByPhone from Volkswagen; and Climate Fund Managers on its investment in Release by Scatec. Prior to joining Jones Day, Floris was a counsel at a leading international law firm.
