Recognized as a leading lawyer, Charles Gavoty serves clients in the hi-tech, biotech, medtech, and fintech industries in matters relating to capital markets, mergers and acquisitions, venture capital, and private equity. He represents a large number of emerging companies and their managers or investors in transactions ranging from seed to late-stage financing, private and public M&A deals, IPOs, private placements, and rights issues, to corporate structuring and management compensation packages. Representative of Charles's work is his involvement in Completel's friendly takeover by Altice for $1 billion; the successful defense of Wavecom against Gemalto's hostile bid and the subsequent friendly takeover of Wavecom by Sierra Wireless; the sale of Novexel to AstraZeneca for US$505 million; the sales of Capitain Train, We Are Cloud, MobPartner, Movea, and Ipdia; the IPO of Inside Secure, SuperSonic Imagine, and Tronics; the equity lines of Cellectis, Inside Secure, and Carmat; the convertible bonds (Oceanes) issue of Inside Secure; the last financing rounds of Frichti, Alkemics, and DataBerries; and the investment by Benchmark, NJJ, and Idinvest in Zenly. Charles's other recent representations of tech/biotech companies include Alkemics, Carmat, Cellectis, Clustree, Criteo, Databerries, Frichti, Inside Secure, Happn, Novexel, Orange, SAP, Slimpay, Stratumn, SuperSonic Imagine, Theranexus, Veolia, and Voltalia, and, on the investors' side, Alven, Benchmark, Bpi, Hi Inov, Idinvest, Index, Kima, Korelya, Kreaxi, NJJ, Omnes Capital, Otium, Partech, Seventure, Sofinnova, Valar, and XAnge.
