Ansgar Rempp, the Firm's Germany Partner-in-Charge, focuses his practice on cross-border M&A and private equity transactions including public takeovers, restructurings, and corporate governance. Recent representative cross-border transactions include: Fosun's acquisition of FFT from ATON, SAP's $8 billion acquisition of Qualtrics, Procter & Gamble's €3.375 billion acquisition of the worldwide consumer health business of Merck KGaA, Plastic Omnium's acquisition of 33.3% of shares in HBPO Group held by MAHLE GmbH, GfK SE in connection with the €2 billion takeover and subsequent squeeze-out and taking private by KKR, MAHLE's sale of its worldwide industrial filtration business, and WL Ross' sale of its majority stake in VTG AG. Other clients Ansgar has represented include AGIC, Century Aluminum, Cerberus, Citigroup, Eastman Chemical, EMERAM, Fosun, General Motors, Goldman Sachs, IBM, Koch Industries, Lanxess, Merz Pharma, One Equity Partners, PAG, Riverside, Steris, and Tenneco. Ansgar was named a leading senior partner in M&A in JUVE's Handbook 2019, one of only 19 lawyers in Germany to be so recognized. In 2015 and 2016, he was nominated by the American Lawyer as Transatlantic Dealmaker of the Year and won the accolade in 2017, the only German lawyer so recognized.
