Gregory Schernecke focuses his practice on mergers and acquisitions, with a particular emphasis on private equity and corporate finance. Mr. Schernecke represents private equity sponsors, alternative asset managers and operating companies in complex merger and acquisition transactions across a wide range of industry sectors, including life sciences, healthcare, travel and hospitality, technology, consumer products, financial services and asset management. He also represents companies and investment banks in cross border public and private financing transactions and securities offerings of equity and debt. Mr. Schernecke was part of the Dechert team that received “Standout” recognition in the Financial Times’ North America Innovative Lawyers awards for its representation of the Certares- led investor group in connection with its joint venture with American Express Company for its Global Business Travel division. Additionally, Mr. Schernecke was part of the Dechert team that received “Commended” status from the FT for its representation of Barings in its novel tri-party transaction with Triangle Capital Corporation and Benefit Street Partners. Again in 2022, he was a member of the team commended by the FT for “overcoming barriers to investment and finance” for representing Tiziana Life Sciences in its cross-border jurisdictional migration from listing on the London Stock Exchange to NASDAQ
