Bio

Gary is a co-founder of Mill City Capital. His affiliation with private equity dates back to 1990 when he was hired as Vice President of Engineering for Deltak shortly after it was acquired by a private equity firm. Over the next 14 years with Deltak, Gary served in several senior management roles, including President, President and COO, and Director of Global Power Equipment Group, Deltak’s eventual parent company. When leading the company, Deltak became a major world-wide player in the power and oil processing equipment industries with extensive operations in Asia, Europe, South America and the Middle East. Additional professional experience includes managerial positions in operations, sales, marketing and engineering with Graco, Inc. and Econo-Therm Energy Systems Corporation both domestic and internationally. In 2004 Gary was recruited to Goldner Hawn as a Managing Director and served in that position until co-founding Mill City Capital in 2010. While at Goldner Hawn, Gary led or co-led the investments in Remmele Engineering and Mid Valley Industries. Gary continues to serve on the boards of Goldner Hawn’s portfolio companies Union Metal Corporation, Allen Edmonds and Remmele Engineering. He also is a board director for ABP Induction, and is a member of the Dean’s Advisory Board of the University of Minnesota’s College of Science and Engineering. Gary holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Minnesota and an MBA from the University of St. Thomas, and is a Licensed Professional Engineer.
