Bio

Justin Kaplan serves as a Partner and Investment Committee member of Balance Point Capital. Together with the other Partners, Justin is responsible for setting the strategic direction of the firm. His responsibilities include firm management, investment origination and execution, and portfolio management. Justin joined Balance Point in 2013 and has significant experience investing across the capital structure in lower middle market companies. During his tenure at Balance Point, Justin has underwritten, structured, and executed debt and equity investments across a variety of industries including technology, healthcare, consumer, tech-enabled services, health and wellness, and business services. Justin began his career at VSS, an information and media focused investment bank and private equity fund. Prior to VSS, Justin worked at Bank of New York Mellon, investing mezzanine debt and equity capital in lower middle market companies. A native of Joliet, Illinois, Justin currently lives with his family in Brooklyn, NY. He is a passionate triathlete, competing in half ironmans and full ironmans. He hopes one day to ride the Tour de France – as a fan.
