Ernesto Carrizosa joined WM Partners in 2015 and serves as CEO, Managing Partner & CIO. Mr. Carrizosa leads the deal team and is responsible for acquisitions and other firm initiatives. He is also a member of the Sustainability Committee. Mr. Carrizosa has more than 34 years of experience with structuring, funding, and conducting due diligence on M&A transactions across the U.S. and Latin America. His work has spanned a broad range of industries, including VMS, media and telecommunications. To date, Mr. Carrizosa has been involved in transactions worth an aggregate of more than US $3.3 billion. He started his career at Citibank LATAM, and between 1987 and 1994, Mr. Carrizosa served in numerous managerial roles at a Colombian industrial conglomerate, including as CFO of multiple service and manufacturing operations. Between 1995 and 1999, Mr. Carrizosa led an investment banking firm in Colombia, where he was involved in a wide range of transactions in the manufacturing, technology, media and telecommunications industries with major U.S. and European investment banks and private equity funds. For example, he worked closely on the creation of the joint venture between Telemundo, NBC, and GE to create the second largest telenovela television producer in the world. In addition to his work in investment banking, Mr. Carrizosa has also served as an ongoing advisor to many high-net-worth individuals, family offices, and as an investor member of Board of Directors of private companies. Mr. Carrizosa was introduced to Messrs. Weinstein and Minski in the late 1990’s and served as financial advisor on the first brand acquisition (Rainbow Light) for the Nutranext platform in 2001. He was involved in every acquisition by the Nutranext platform, playing an integral role in its expansion, and all subsequent deals made by WM Partners to date. Mr. Carrizosa holds a Finance and Decision Sciences degree from The Wharton School of Business, University of Pennsylvania.
