David Tan Bio

David Tan is a Managing Director with TPG Capital Asia based in Singapore, where he works on TPG’s private equity investments in Southeast Asia. Prior to joining TPG in 2019, he was with KKR for 11 years in their Menlo Park, Hong Kong and Singapore offices where he was involved in US$2.5 billion of equity deployment across various types of transactions including public to privates, structured minority equity, distressed debt purchase and management team build-ups. While at KKR, he worked on the investments into Aricent, Colonial Pipeline, Unisteel Technology, Masan Consumer, Goodpack, Mandala Energy and Masan Meat Life. David graduated from the University of Pennsylvania (Wharton) and currently sits on the boards of Masan Group in Vietnam and Pathology Asia Holdings in Singapore.
