Sebastien is the Founder and Managing Partner of Syntagma. Sebastien is responsible for the overall management and operations of the Firm, deal origination, M&A and portfolio management. He is a member of the Investment Committee and the Portfolio Committee of the firm. Sebastien has over 21 years of investing in and operating businesses on a global basis. He led, co-led or participated in the deployment of over €1.1bn of capital across over 40 deals of which 23 were complex carve outs. Through his career, Sebastien has lived and worked across Europe, the US, Latin America and Asia. From 2010 to 2012, Sebastien was the CEO of Agis Fire & Security, the market leading integrator of security solutions in Eastern Europe and the Nordics where he led a full transformation of the business and executed 4 add-ons. Between 2012 to 2020, Sebastien was co-owner and Partner of OpenGate Capital, a middle market investment firm where he co-led the European business and served as a member of its global Investment Committee, Portfolio Management Committee, Valuation Committee and the firm’s Management Committee. He was also a Vice President at Sun Capital Partners in London and started his career in Paris with Omnes Capital and in London with Compass Partners. Sebastien holds a MS in Economy and Business Administration from University of Applied Science in Nuremberg, a MS in Finance from University of Aix-Marseille III and a Post Graduate in Finance from ESSEC Business School. Sebastien is also a graduate of the OPM program at Harvard Business School. He is fluent in English, German, French and Portuguese.
