With an early passion for math and physics, Bertrand studied telecom and computer science at the dawn of the digital era and originally worked as a system architect engineer for the nascent asynchronous (internet) networks. On top of being a technophile, Bertrand has a sharp sense for recognizing strategic opportunities. This led him to make a decisive move to private equity, and from then he never looked back. For more than 25 years, Bertrand has been helping businesses grow their activity, shape their own sectors, and emerge as leaders in their industries, creating over €1.5 billion in value along the way. He also developed a deep belief in the long-term power of ESG when combined with digital technology. Bertrand is the proud father of four energetic and ESG-committed children, and he’s an adventure enthusiast. You can bump into him kitesurfing the waves in Jericoacoara, Brazil; wakeboarding in the Tuamotu Islands, French Polynesia; or sailing the skies as an FPV drone pilot in Matombi, Congo. Bertrand is also the Founder and Honorary Chairman of a Mediterranean Littoral Association and the creator of the High-Impact Innovation Prize hosted by the Polytechnique Foundation. |
