Michael Lay Bio

Michael joined ONCAP in 2000. Previously he was head of the Private Equity Group at Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan, one of Canada’s largest institutional investors in private equity. He has also served as Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer of VERSUS Technologies Inc. Michael is a Chartered Professional Accountant, CA. Michael holds a Honours in Business Administration from the Ivey Business School at Western University. As Managing Partner of ONCAP, Michael has oversight responsibilities for ONCAP’s operations, including investment decision-making, team development, relationship with Onex and limited partner investors. He also sits on a number of the operating company Boards of Directors.
