Ed van Dijk studied Mechanical Engineering at Delft University of Technology and attained his MBA at INSEAD in Fontainebleau, France. He first worked for Shell International and later in the semiconductor industry before joining Gilde Investment Fund, a leading venture capital company in the Netherlands. In 1993 he led a management buy-in of industrial toolmaker Gerfa Rex. This was a heavily loss-making group before Ed masterminded its restructuring and return to profit. That project was also the crucible for the foundation of Nimbus. As well as directing Nimbus, he continues to apply his own hands-on skills at firms requiring strategic changes. His financial expertise has proven extremely valuable to several Nimbus companies.
