Toshitaka (Taka) Shimizu Bio

Mr. Shimizu is a Partner for L Catterton Asia, leading the North Asia team based in Tokyo. Prior to joining L Catterton, Mr. Shimizu was a Principal at a Japanese buyout fund, Rising Japan Equity and Director at CLSA Capital Partners’ Japan dedicated fund, Sunrise Capital, both of where he was deeply involved in mid-cap buyout deals in the consumer sector. Before moving into private equity, he started his career with Deloitte as an auditor, and in the marketing finance division of BAT Japan. He holds Chartered Accounts (CA) qualification, graduated with Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) / Commerce dual degree from the University of Queensland and have completed the Advanced Management Program (AMP) at Columbia Business School.
