Michael Hering Bio

Michael has more than 20 years of experience as a private equity investor and Chief Financial Officer. At IOP, Michael’s responsibilities include portfolio monitoring, investor relations, compliance, accounting/tax, banking, and portfolio valuations. Earlier, he was responsible for deal sourcing and execution as well as managing portfolio investments. Before joining IOP, Michael most recently was a Managing Director and the Chief Financial Officer of a Chicago private equity firm focused on investing in middle-market companies. Previously, he worked at LaSalle Partners in various financial and accounting positions. He began his career at Coopers & Lybrand (now PwC). Michael received a B.A. in accounting from Michigan State University and an M.B.A. from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management. He is a CPA (inactive).
