Prior to co-founding Hawk Capital, Mike served as the President of LifeShield Security, the home security division of DIRECTV. Mike acquired a significant equity stake in LifeShield in December 2009 and served as its President and Chief Executive Officer until June 2013 when he sold LifeShield to DIRECTV. Mike served as the Chairman & Chief Executive Officer of Nutrisystem from 2002 until 2008. Mike was the lead investor/sponsor of a group that acquired control of Nutrisystem and led its turnaround by taking sales from $27M to $778M and Ebitda from $0 to $170M by 2007. The company earned numerous distinctions including Forbes Magazine's Best Small Public Company in 2006 and Mike was Forbes Magazine's Entrepreneur Of The Year. In 1995, Mike co-founded Verticalnet and held numerous executive and board positions including Chairman of the Board, President & Chief Executive Officer. Verticalnet was a pioneer in B2B commerce and the company grew to nearly 2,000 employees and completed over two dozen acquisitions after its successful IPO in 1999. Early in his career, Mike served as a Vice President and Senior Manager at Merrill Lynch Asset Management. Mike is a two-time Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year award winner for the Philadelphia Region. He has served on the boards of Actua Corporation (NASDAQ:ACTA) from 2007-2018. Was Chairman of Nutrisystem from 2012 until March, 2018 when it was sold to Tivity Health (NASDAQ:TVTY) for $1.4 BN, and current Lead Independent Director of FS KKR Capital Corp (NYSE: FSK), FSK Investments II, III and IV. FS/KKR is a leading manager of alternative investments with $15 billion in assets under management. Mike received his BS from St. Joseph's University, where he currently serves as a trustee. He was formerly a Certified Public Accountant.
