Jimmy brings with him over 15 years of executive business leadership, with the past 8 years focused extensively on increasing the economic stability of Tribal communities. At GLI, he is tasked with supporting the execution of the company’s strategy, overseeing the internal operations, and helping the organization build and manage its growing investment portfolio. In his role, Jimmy directly supports GLI’s mission of helping secure the economic future of members of the Gun Lake Tribe, through a philosophy of prioritizing in people first. As a member of the Nottawaseppi Huron Band of the Potawatomi Indians, Jimmy is passionate about the social and economic advancement of the Match-E-Be-Nash-She-Wish Band of Pottawatomi Indians. Throughout his career, Jimmy has been focused on developing leaders at all levels within the organization through the promotion of a team-based culture. His unique blend of skills, experience and hands-on leadership in the areas of operations, business development, information technology and mergers and acquisitions, will be useful in supporting GLI and its team in achieving the company’s mission. Prior to joining GLI, Jimmy simultaneously led two west Michigan based mid-market businesses on behalf of a family office style, private equity investment firm. Over his career, Jimmy has served as the president of a research and development engineering firm focused on working with the US Department of Defense, a production machining and manufacturing operation, and an agriculture industry manufacturing and distribution business. Jimmy holds a Master’s degree in Jurisprudence, with a focus on business law, from Loyola University in Chicago and a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Grand Valley State University’s Seidman School of Business in Grand Rapids. He is currently enrolled in the Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law studying business law. Jimmy received his undergraduate degree in business administration from Central Michigan University. Jimmy and his wife Kristin grew up in the White Lake area, where they now live with their three children – twins, Isaac and Allison, and Ashley. Jimmy currently volunteers his time to the Whitehall District Schools Board of Education where he has served as the board’s treasurer since 2015, and the White Lake Yacht Club as the club’s treasurer since 2021. In his spare time (if he has any), Jimmy enjoys spending time with his family, coaching soccer, working on cars, golfing, and spending time on Michigan’s beautiful lakes.
