Jim TenBroek is a co-founder and Managing Partner of GCP. Before that Jim played a leadership role in the growth and evolution of Wind Point Partners, a Chicago-based middle market private equity firm, over 19 years and five private equity funds. Since Mr. TenBroek joined as a Managing Director in 1997, Wind Point grew from $150 million of equity capital under management to over $2 billion when he departed in 2016. Before joining Wind Point, Mr. TenBroek joined GTCR after graduating from business school, and led early GTCR investments in marketing and IT services. Mr. TenBroek has been a Board member of over 20 companies, including two public companies, during his 24 years as an investor. He has successfully led the investment of over $500 million of equity capital. Those companies, including later stage venture capital, growth equity, and leveraged buyout transactions, have grown both organically and via over 80 add-on acquisitions. Mr. TenBroek’s industry focus has been primarily business, technology and consumer services, including information, marketing and tech-enabled business services. Mr. TenBroek currently serves on the Board of Directors for Active Interest Media, Opus Agency, Beachfront Media and Trendline Interactive and CyberRisk Alliance. Mr. TenBroek brings broad experience in all aspects of investing and the management of a successful private equity firm. Importantly, he has experience and a successful investment track record in Growth Catalyst Partners’ target industries, with a clear vision for ways to bring exceptional CEO partners and potential leadership to each stage of the investment process, driving portfolio company transformation. Mr. TenBroek is the former Chairman and current Executive Committee member of the Illinois Venture Capital Association (IVCA). The IVCA membership represents over 75 of Illinois’ largest private equity and venture capital investment firms as a lobbyist, information resource and education resource. Mr. TenBroek earned an MBA from Harvard Business School, a Master in Engineering from Cornell University, and an AB from Dartmouth College.
