Rob Thielen Bio

Apart from being a Senior Partner of Elbrus Capital Funds, Rob is the Chairman and Founder of Waterland, one of the top performing private equity groups in the world. Before starting Waterland in 1999, Rob gained extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions as manager/shareholder of Reitsma & Wertheim & Partners. He was also general manager of his family’s fashion retail group. Earlier on, he worked as a turn-around consultant with IMCG and as an account manager with the Corporate Finance Group of ABN AMRO Bank. Rob received a tax law degree from the University of San Diego in California, USA, and also obtained a degree in tax law from the Rijksuniversiteit Leiden in the Netherlands.
