Alan has spent his career investing in lower middle market companies in the media, entertainment, communications and related business services sectors, and is passionate about partnering with management teams to build leading businesses. Prior to founding Coral Tree Partners, Alan was a partner with LA-based private equity firm Shamrock Capital, where he worked for 14 years, sourcing, leading, and driving transformational investments. Previously, Alan has served on the boards of numerous companies across the sports, media, and entertainment sectors including Ad Results Media, Pixellot, Appetize, Maple Media, Silvergate Media, Recorded Books, FanDuel, Giant Creative/Strategy, Learfield Communications, and Screenvision Media. Alan began his career at Bain & Company in Los Angeles as a management consultant. Alan graduated with distinction from Stanford University where he was a senior year walk-on goalkeeper for the 2001 men’s soccer final four team. He earned his MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business where he was recognized as a Siebel Scholar, an Arjay Miller Scholar, and as the 2008 Ford Scholar for graduating first in his class. Alan has been involved in a number of non-profit organizations and currently serves as a Founding Member and Co-Chair for the US Soccer Federation Los Angeles Development Council. He previously served on the boards of the St James Inn in Los Angeles, the Los Angeles Advisory Board for the Spark Program, and the Stanford Athletics Buck/Cardinal Club.
