Movea, which is headquartered in Grenoble (France), was set up in March 2007 as a spin-out from French research institute CEA-Léti. It develops and sells solutions for recording human movement. Movea’s products are mobile, wireless, and cost and energy saving. Movea’s motion-sensing modules are aimed both at the consumer market, with pointing devices and mobile telephony, and at the health care market, including revalidation and recording of physical activities. In 2007, Movea acquired the US company Gyration, which specializes in pointing devices for digital media.
