American Glass Products (AGP) is one of the world's leading companies producing bullet-resistant glass for motor vehicles. The Company concentrates on curved, armored, glass/polycarbonate windows for vehicles, which are high value-added specialized products. Customers include independent armorers who retrofit vehicles for individual customers and company fleets, as well as leading auto manufacturers who offer armed vehicles for sale in their dealer showrooms. Sales are concentrated in Mexico, Brazil and the US, with selected customers in Asia and other Latin American countries. The market for bullet-resistant glass is growing rapidly in many parts of the world, and the Company plans to increase its production capacity to meet the demand. The Company's manufacturing facilities are located in Parque Industrial I in Mexicali, Baja California. The equipment used is specially designed to handle thicker and heavier sheets of glass than are used in conventional automobile windows. Multiple pieces of glass are assembled together with polyurethane adhesive, after heating to bend them into curved forms to fit the molds of automobile window designs. Much of the manufacturing process is automated, utilizing skilled labor and relatively expensive capital equipment and tooling. The production staff is comprised of approximately 70 people.
