Concentrating on financial services and automotive industry issues, Linda Paullin-Hebden serves as a securities compliance advisor to registered investment advisers and as a counselor to venture capital and private equity funds. Linda handles a variety of matters, including mergers and acquisitions, compliance, fund formation, joint ventures, private investments and other transactions as well as general corporate issues. Linda's financial services investment practice spans the United States, while her work for automotive clients is primarily centered in southeast Michigan. She served as a member of the firm's management committee and was formerly the executive partner of the firm's Detroit and Bloomfield Hills offices. Linda helps her auto industry clients with myriad legal and business challenges in a volatile time as they weather the transition to electric and autonomous vehicles. Her investment adviser clients operate in a highly regulated environment, and she helps them adhere to the rules in a way that doesn't hinder their commercial operations. Linda often says, "Compliance doesn't run your business; I make sure your business is compliant." In this approach, clients tell Linda what they want to do and she advises them in the best way to do it under applicable laws. As a dedicated problem solver who always plans several steps ahead, Linda finds it gratifying to help clients work through complex issues and explore options that get them closer to attaining their objectives. At the start of transactions, she sits down with clients to determine their goals. Linda finds that aiming for the desired outcome helps keep everyone focused and on track during the heat of the deal.
