For almost 40 years, Bruce Young has served as a trusted advisor to, and advocate for, closely held businesses and family offices – with a focus on corporate and transactional work and succession planning. Clients count on him to deliver measured advice that factors in their individual risk tolerance as well as the contextual ‘big picture.’ A skilled legal technician, Bruce gets that it is just as important to be a good listener in order to understand a client’s goals. Chair of the firm's Opinion Review Committee, Bruce also has extensive experience with the formal legal opinions that are often required by lenders, underwriters and other third parties in the context of secured and unsecured financings, mergers and acquisitions, and securities transactions. Longstanding corporate counsel to one of the largest family offices in Michigan, Bruce also serves on the steering committee of the firm's Private Client and Family Office Group. Bruce has a special connection to family businesses, as he is a third-generation participant in one – a business that his grandfather and a friend started in 1926, now run by Bruce’s brother and nephew.
