Stephen Lewis served as the initial chair and CEO of Troutman Pepper, after serving as managing partner and CEO of predecessor firm Troutman Sanders. He has been a partner in the firm’s corporate law practice group since 1999. Clients across a diverse set of industries turn to Steve to navigate day-to-day business issues and to evaluate and execute strategic transactions such as mergers and acquisitions and joint ventures. He serves as outside general counsel to several closely held companies and is particularly experienced in advising family owned businesses. Steve draws from a strong foundational background in finance, accounting, and operations in enabling his clients to make better-informed decisions.
