Christian Chad Warpula is a partner in the firm’s Charlotte office. His diversified practice includes corporate, private equity, securities, M&A, joint venture, commercial contracting, intellectual property, sports, licensing, sponsorship, media and entertainment, franchise, and dispute resolution matters for a wide range of clients in all types of transactions and disciplines. Chad started his career in sports representing Dale Earnhardt, the legendary seven-time NASCAR Winston Cup Champion, and spent five years as general counsel/president for Dale Earnhardt, Inc. Prior to joining the firm, Chad served as a partner at two other large international law firms and as a law clerk for a federal court judge. In addition to leading the firm’s practices in sports law and franchise law, Chad also leads the commercial contracting and contract management practices where he manages a team of commercial contracting specialists and successfully implements enterprise-wide contract lifecycle management solutions for domestic and international clients. As part of his corporate practice, Chad represents clients in corporate and finance transactions, private equity transactions, securities offerings, debt restructurings, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and general corporate matters. Chad also represents clients in structuring, drafting, and negotiating multimillion-dollar transactions related to licensing of intellectual property rights, sponsorship and merchandising agreements, sports, entertainment and new media arrangements, technology transactions, privacy issues, professional services, and complex outsourcing arrangements.
