and access,
Barry Levin provides high-level legal counsel on complex corporate and real estate transactions that shape the future of businesses across a wide variety of industries. His keen understanding of how legal issues intersect with business interests in these deals and other corporate matters stems from more than 35 years of legal practice, as well as his role as the immediate past Managing Partner and CEO of Saul Ewing. In this role, he was responsible for overseeing the Firm’s daily business operations, client relations, business development, and strategic planning and growth, including the largest domestic law firm merger in the United States in 2017 and a 116 percent increase in gross revenue over the eight years he was at the helm. Barry also brings a keen understanding of the dynamics between C-suite leadership and corporate boards based on his experience serving on the Board of Directors for Mannington Mills, a leading flooring manufacturer, and as Past Chair of the Board of Directors for LifeBridge Health, a multi-billion dollar fully integrated health system. Together, these experiences help Barry relate to the challenges and successes clients face as business owners and align his advice with their strategic goals and tolerance for risk. Clients ranging from retailers, manufacturers and distributors to real estate businesses and medical and dental practices trust Barry's legal advice and counsel for mergers and acquisitions, financings, franchising issues, licensing, real estate deals and general corporate matters. Barry's clients span from entrepreneurial technology developers to Fortune 500 companies. Barry is also a trusted advisor for closely held and family-owned businesses in matters related to their growth, restructuring, succession and divestiture. Drawing on his corporate leadership skills, Barry listens and provides advice on legal structures to untangle governance challenges, complex tax issues, family fiduciary disputes and transitions to the next generation of executives as he pulls together attorneys from practice and industry groups across the Firm to help set clients on course. Barry also assists privately held business owners and high-net-worth individuals and families with complex estate and trust planning and administration, including wealth transfer to charitable organizations and the next generation. Barry’s practical experience bringing two law firm cultures together to build one strong organization also highlights his skill as an attorney who can help professionals find solutions to resolve differences that affect their businesses. While he is experienced at managing litigation when differences cannot be resolved, Barry first aims to help clients resolve these disagreements through mediation or other alternative dispute resolution mechanisms that focus on negotiations, compromise and inclusion.
