Sid focuses his practice on mergers and acquisitions and emerging company/venture capital transactions. He has experience representing public and private companies, private equity firms, and investment and hedge funds in an array of corporate transactions, including mergers, acquisitions (both asset and stock), divestitures, financings, fund formation and general corporate matters across multiple industries. Additionally, he regularly represents founders and investors (strategic and financial) in a variety of emerging company transactions, including angel and series investments. Sid serves as a member of the firm’s executive committee and the vice chair of the Business and Finance Department. Before that, he was the vice chair of the firm’s Global Corporate Group, a role in which he guided the strategies of hundreds of lawyers, providing leadership and mentoring lawyers at all stages of their careers. He is also an active member of Reed Smith’s Culture & Engagement initiatives, having served as partner chair and in other leadership roles with the Pacific and Asian American Lawyers and Staff business inclusion group. Sid previously practiced transactional law in Singapore representing U.S. and international companies, as well as state-owned enterprises doing business throughout Southeast Asia, Europe, and Latin America. He passed the SEC series 7, 24, 55 and 63 exams and performed an internship with the Appeals Division of the United Nations International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda in 2004.
