Luke Burns is a partner in the firm’s Energy & Natural Resources Group. He has over a decade of experience representing energy companies and other clients in upstream acquisitions and divestitures (onshore and offshore), joint development arrangements (farmouts, “drillco” agreements, etc.), and on various aspects of hydrogen and LNG projects. In the upstream space in the last few years, Luke has been involved in billions of dollars of transactions in the Permian Basin, the Marcellus/Utica, the Gulf of Mexico, and elsewhere. In the hydrogen space, Luke has advised utilities and other clients on the construction of hydrogen projects and the divestiture of hydrogen project assets. With respect to LNG matters, Luke has advised clients on long-term sale and purchase agreements, regasification projects, liquefaction projects, and feed gas supply arrangements. Recently, he has advised energy tech clients on projects using natural gas to power cryptocurrency mining operations.
