Jennifer Cheng is a partner in Global Corporate (U.S.) Group, resident in the firm’s New York office. She currently serves as the U.S. Vice-Chair of the firm’s Global Corporate Group as well as Chair of the firm’s Global M&A Team. Jennifer's practice focuses on representing Fortune 500, international, and middle market companies in a wide range of corporate transactions both domestic and cross-border, including take privates, public and private mergers, asset and stock acquisitions and divestitures, auctions, joint ventures, corporate restructurings, private equity investments and distress and bankruptcy related acquisitions and divestitures. Jennifer has particular experience in representing publicly listed companies in a variety of corporate transactions, including the sale of the company. Jennifer also represents financial advisors in fairness opinions and valuation-related work. In addition, Jennifer advises on issues of corporate governance and other general corporate matters. Jennifer has received a series of accolades in recognition of her leadership and excellence in her field, which include being named to The Deal’s Top Women in Dealmaking in 2023 and named as one of Merger’s & Acquisitions’ Most Influential Women in Mid-Market M&A in 2022. In 2021, Jennifer was named Young Lawyer of the Year by The American Lawyer, named to the inaugural list of Bloomberg Law’s “They’ve Got Next: 40 Under 40” and named a 2021 BTI M&A Client Service All-Star. In 2019, she was named Rising Star by the New York Law Journal. She has also been consistently ranked by Chambers USA for New York Corporate/M&A as well as consistently recognized by IFLR1000 as Highly Regarded in the practice area of M&A.
