Herb is a trusted advisor to the firm’s global clients. His four decades of experience provide his clients with unique insights and solutions across the full range of business and legal issues. He has held a number of leadership positions, reflecting his commitment and dedication to the firm. He focuses his practice on corporate law and regularly advises clients on matters including mergers, acquisitions and divestitures; corporate governance and partnership matters; and private equity, capital markets, venture capital and cross-border transactions. Herb is a member of On-Chain: Reed Smith’s Crypto & Digital Assets Group. He works with clients on cryptocurrency and digital asset transactions and disputes. Herb also has experience directly handling corporate disputes and litigation. His track record includes defending shareholder class action and derivative claims; assisting with hostile takeovers and proxy contests; conducting internal corporate investigations; and handling disputes among shareholders of closely held companies. Herb actively advises public and private companies in diverse fields. His clients include key players in the technology, financial services, life sciences and health care, and entertainment and media sectors. In addition to maintaining a successful corporate practice, Herb has previously held a number of leadership positions at Reed Smith, including as the Head of our IP, Tech & Data Group, and as our Global Corporate Head, founder and chair of our Global FinTech practice, and chair of our Legal Opinions Committee. He has also served on the firm’s Executive Committee, Audit Committee and Strategy Committee.
