Christina Ponig Maccio is a first-chair trial lawyer and leading litigator for the energy sector. Christina brings a proven record at trial, on appeal, and in U.S. and international arbitration venues on behalf of energy companies, including publicly traded energy companies, independent oil companies, state-owned oil companies, oilfield services firms and oilfield suppliers. She also has guided important commercial litigation in the financial, technology and other sectors in matters involving business torts, foreign sovereign immunity, contractual disputes, restrictive covenants and trade secret protection. Fluent in Spanish, Christina has extensive experience representing companies in Europe and Latin America. Christina has earned her reputation as a premier first-chair trial lawyer by winning high-stakes cases, such as when she secured a multimillion-dollar jury verdict in a case involving a complex, energy-related contract dispute, for which she was named Texas Lawyer Litigator of the Week. Following law school, Christina clerked for two years for U.S. District Judge Lynn N. Hughes in Houston. Christina is also passionate about pro bono service and contributing to her community. She is a member of the Board of Governors of The Center for Pursuit, which for more than six decades has served individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) in the Houston area to live meaningful, dignified lives filled with opportunity.
