Geert Hayen specialises in company law, commercial law, economic law, accounting law, insolvency law and family property law. He provides all-round legal advice to companies and advises them on business and share transfers. Geert’s background in economics and tax enables him to think along the same lines as entrepreneurs regarding their company structure, their growth potential and capacity, and market opportunities. He advises companies on acquisitions when they expand and on restructuring (under the Business Continuity Act, etc.) when they undergo challenges. Geert advises entrepreneurs and high net-worth individuals on how to structure their asset portfolio and plan their succession. As a lawyer, he certainly assists clients in resolving disputes concerning all business aspects, company property, and assets belonging to private individuals. Geert Hayen graduated from KU Leuven in 1992 and completed additional training in tax law (Fiscale Hogeschool, Brussels, 1993) and company law (Katholieke Universiteit Brussel, 1994). Geert frequently lectures on company law topics, how to organize assets, liberal professions, etc. He joined Monard Law in September 2007 and has been a lawyer-partner at the firm since then.
