Bio

Jeffrey Mahaffey is a founding partner of Mahaffey Pickens Tucker, LLP. His practice focuses on representing purchasers, sellers and lenders in a wide variety of real estate-and banking law - related matters, including commercial real estate transactions; lending transactions; land use (including zonings, special use permits and other development issues); construction and development related issues; tax deferred exchanges; acquisition contracts; and drafting covenants, reciprocal easements and other real estate-related agreements and instruments. Prior to his time at Mahaffey Pickens Tucker, LLP, Mr. Mahaffey was a Partner at Andersen, Tate, Mahaffey & McGarity, P.C., in Gwinnett County, Georgia. Mr. Mahaffey graduated magna cum laude from the University of Georgia School of Law in 1989. During his time there, he served on the Editorial Board and the Managing Board of the Georgia Law Review, and he was elected as a member of the Order of the Coif. Prior to attending law school, Mr. Mahaffey earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering in 1984 from Georgia Institute of Technology. Mr. Mahaffey is a native of Gwinnett County and an active participant in the Gwinnett community. Previously, he has served as a member of the Rotary, the Growth Issues Steering Committee and other community organizations, and as a former member of the Board of Directors for the Gwinnett Council for Quality Growth, Gwinnett Technical College and the Gwinnett Chamber of Commerce. He has also served as a President of the Kiwanis Club and is a graduate of Leadership Gwinnett.
