Bio

Jonathan Wishnia is Lowenstein Sandler’s Hiring Partner, a member of the Executive Board, and the Chair of the firm’s Mortgage & Structured Finance practice. He is currently ranked Band 1 by Chambers Global (2024) and Chambers USA (2023) for Capital Markets: Securitization: MSR and Band 3 by Chambers Global (2024) and Chambers USA (2023) for Capital Markets: Securitization: RMBS. Clients value Jonathan’s extensive experience in matters related to the trading and financing of loans, servicing rights and instruments derived therefrom, the servicing of loans, and the securitization of various asset classes. He also advises clients regularly on secured and unsecured credit facilities, asset purchases and sales, mergers and acquisitions, and other general capital markets matters, as well as the resolution of disputes relating to his practice. Jonathan maintains a diverse practice that includes representation of investment managers and management companies, fund organizations and portfolio companies, investment and commercial banks, consulting firms, financial institutions, broker-dealers, mortgage servicers and originators, trustees, and nonprofit foundations, among others. Jonathan has been recognized as "Empire State Counsel" by the New York State Bar Association for his pro bono work in the housing finance sector. He is on the Board of Trustees of a nonprofit that focuses on revitalizing underserved housing sectors nationally. He is on the Board of Trustees of a nonprofit that exists to facilitate the use of live theater to grow empathy and to support those who seek the same. He is also on the New York Executive Advisory Board of the Darren Waller Foundation.
