Mike Jansen has almost 30 years of experience in public and private M&A, private equity, joint ventures, and venture capital transactions, as well as in corporate advisory work, including governance issues. His clients include U.S. and European multinationals; companies in the energy, mining, and infrastructure (EMI) industry; and large and mid-size domestic corporations. Prior to joining Jones Day in 2016, Mike worked for 21 years at a global law firm, serving as its managing partner and chairman of the Amsterdam board for five of those years. He also served as member of the international non-executive board of the firm. Mike's experience includes: representing LUKOIL in the acquisition of the Verolma Groep (which constituted the entrance of LUKOIL in the Dutch market); representing SHV Energy in the $170 million acquisition of the LPG businesses (Pinnacle Propane, LLC, Alliant Gas, LLC, and Pinnacle Propane Express, LLC) of U.S.- listed American Midstream Partners, as well as in the auction sale of Primagaz Nederland to DCC Energy; representing Fairstar Heavy Transport in the hostile takeover by Dockwise White Marlin; representing Dover Cooperation in the acquisition of certain parts of NXP Semiconductors; and representing Alcoa in the sale of two bauxite mines and a hydro energy dam (Brokopondo Dam) to the State of Suriname. Mike is a member of the European Venture Capital Association, the International Bar Association, and the Dutch Bar Association (NOvA). He also serves on the board and is a member of various corporate, cultural, and charity organizations.
