Raunaq Kohli practice focuses on energy regulatory counseling and transactional matters across a wide range of assets, including gas, coal, hydro, solar, storage, on and offshore wind, demand response, transmission and LNG, on behalf of public utilities, financial institutions, investment funds, independent power producers, and others. With a deep understanding of the energy sector, transactions, and corporate governance matters, Niqui counsels clients on structuring and negotiating commercial transactions in the energy space and on securing the required energy regulatory approvals from the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), among other regulators. He regularly assists with obtaining energy regulatory approvals at the federal and state levels for high-value energy transactions, guides clients through the regulatory interplay with corporate, tax, and antitrust components of mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, financings, joint ventures and other commercial transactions in the energy sector, and manages risk throughout these complex matters. Niqui has previously worked on pro bono immigration matters for victims of human trafficking as well as the Innocence Project. He is fluent in English and French.
