Bio

Zhen Liu is the head of the firm's China practice and is a member of the firm’s global management committee. She specializes in venture capital and private equity, joint ventures, cross-border mergers and acquisitions, SEC compliance and corporate governance. Zhen has substantial experience representing startups, emerging growth companies, public companies, as well as venture and institutional investors. Over the years, she navigated many startups from incorporation and early stage financings to growing into Unicorns and Super Unicorns. Zhen has also been deeply engaged in major M&As recognized in the industry. Zhen is fully bilingual and has practiced in both the United States and China. Prior to practicing as a corporate lawyer, Zhen worked at a top international think tank, the Council on Foreign Relations, with a research focus on Sino-US relations. She has also taught and researched on legislative initiatives at Yale Law School. She was named a “Top 100 Foreign Firm Lawyer” by China Business Law Journal. Zhen grew up in Hangzhou and graduated from NYU Law School. She is licensed in New York and California.
