David Gammell represents venture-backed companies in a wide range of industries at all stages of growth. His clients include cybersecurity, energy, fintech, healthcare IT, life sciences and other high tech companies. David represents these clients in their formations, financings and exits as well as in their technology transactions strategy, including licensing, technology transfers and strategic alliances. In addition to his company practice, David also represents venture capital and private equity funds across the globe in a variety of financing transactions. David teaches at Harvard and MIT and is a frequent lecturer and author on issues related to startups and venture-backed companies. Prior to joining Gunderson Dettmer, David was the co-chair of the Emerging Company and Venture Capital Practice at WilmerHale. Prior to law school, he was a nuclear engineer and an officer in the United States Navy.
