Partner
and access,
Anna Westfelt is a partner in our Silicon Valley office. As the Head of Gunderson Dettmer’s Data Privacy Practice, Anna counsels clients on a broad range of U.S. and European data privacy and security issues, including the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), HIPAA, COPPA and complex cross-jurisdictional data privacy matters. Anna represents emerging company clients across industry sectors, from consumer internet, consumer products, ad tech, health tech, consumer genetic, financial technology, and software and SaaS industries, as well as a number of leading venture capital firms. Anna has significant experience guiding clients through GDPR and CCPA compliance, and advising on model contract clauses, privacy policies, data processing agreements, and global privacy compliance strategies. She also advises on data privacy and security issues in venture capital financings, mergers and acquisitions, and IPOs. Anna is a Fellow of Information Privacy (FIP) as well as a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP), holding the U.S. private-sector certification (CIPP/US), the EU data protection certification (CIPP/E), and the Information Privacy Manager certification (CIPM), each granted by the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP).
