Shimmy Posen Bio

Shimmy joined Garfinkle Biderman as an associate in 2012. He practices in the firm’s corporate commercial and securities groups, with an emphasis on corporate finance and mergers and acquisitions. Shimmy’s transactional experience includes domestic and cross-border public and private corporate finance transactions representing both public and private companies, agents and underwriters as well as mergers and acquisitions in a variety of industries. He also advises public companies and dissent groups on general corporate, proxy fights, and securities law matters including stock exchange listings, continuous disclosure obligations and other regulatory compliance issues. Shimmy’s approach to his law practice is to provide solution-oriented value to the client and facilitate transactions as efficiently as possible. Prior to joining Garfinkle Biderman, Shimmy completed his articling term with a prestigious national law firm in downtown Toronto, where he gained experience in a number of practice areas, including corporate, securities, mining and tax law.
