Bio

Byron Dailey leads Fenwick’s private investment funds practice, advising on every type of investment fund or venture studio formation related to venture, tech, life sciences, blockchain or cryptocurrency. He counsels venture capital funds, venture studios, crypto investment vehicles, DAO-based investment funds, corporate venture operations, investment clubs, impact funds, incubators, accelerators and private equity funds—at all stages and sizes—on fund formation, seamlessly guiding fund managers through the design, fundraising, governance and investment process. With over 20 years of experience structuring and negotiating domestic and international business transactions, Byron also has significant experience in mergers and acquisitions, social enterprise, nonprofit, capital markets and other corporate and securities matters. Byron is known for delivering responsive advice, equipping clients to make creative and practical business decisions based on cutting-edge risk analysis. He is skilled at navigating business, legal and cultural issues in all regions of the world having handled a wide variety of transactions involving dozens of countries on six continents. Byron’s past experience includes working for several years in the New York office of a top Wall Street firm and as partner in the Seattle office of another leading international firm. Most recently, he was partner at one of the Pacific Northwest’s oldest firms, where he served as chair of its private investment funds team and founder of its blockchain and cryptocurrency practice, life sciences team and nonprofits and social enterprises team. During law school, he served as editor-in-chief of the Law Review.
