Amber Matthews is Country Managing Partner for Australia. Prior to this role, Amber served as General Counsel at DLA Piper, responsible for advising the firm on all its legal matters across Asia-Pacific, Europe, Middle East and Africa. Amber led the firm's internal Legal, Risk Management and Compliance team, was a member of the Global Risk Committee and secretary to the board of DLA Piper International LLP, advising on risk and corporate governance issues. Amber joined DLA Piper in 2003 as a solicitor in the Corporate group where she worked on a wide range of corporate matters including mergers and acquisitions, private equity investment and IPOs. She joined the Corporate Management team in 2008 as in-house counsel and was promoted to partner and general counsel in 2011. Amber is admitted to practice in New South Wales and England and Wales.
