Zaichi Hu is a partner in the Corporate group. He specializes in foreign direct investment, mergers and acquisitions, financing, and general corporate and commercial matters with a focus on the technology, energy and mining sectors. Zaichi has over 25 years of legal experience at major international, Canadian and Chinese law firms. In recent years he has represented many Chinese enterprises and individual investors in acquiring existing businesses and establishing new businesses in Canada, helping them navigate complicated Canadian corporate and commercial laws and foreign investment regulatory framework. He has also advised Canadian companies on legal matters arising from their operations in Canada and China, including corporate governance, employment and regulatory and compliance issues. Working together with other specialists, he has also assisted clients in resolving their investment, corporate, commercial and employment disputes, and designing and implementing exit strategies including disposal, liquidation and dissolution.
