Sona Taghiyeva Bio

Sona Taghiyeva is Partner in Dentons' Prague office. Sona focuses on corporate and real estate law. She has particular expertise in the areas of project management of multi-country deals, real estate M&A, title insurance, W&I insurance, and complex due diligence processes. She also has broad experience in energy and infrastructure, banking and finance, compliance, real estate law, construction, licensing and hospitality issues. Sona also advises clients on development and implementation of ESG strategies across real estate sector and serves as a Co-Head Greater of the Europe Real Estate ESG Steering Committee. She was an Executive Committee Member at British Business Group Azerbaijan acting as a business liaison from August 2017 till January 2020. She was admitted to the New York Bar in January 2011. She is also registered as a foreign lawyer in the Czech Bar Association since July 2018. Working in the firm’s New York office during the summer of 2010, Sona assisted on various corporate, mergers and acquisitions, real estate, estate and probate matters. While working in the Washington DC office of Dentons in 2015, Sona advised clients on energy, corporate, trade compliance and other matters.
