Peter is a business lawyer focused on Corporate Finance, Private Equity and Mergers & Acquisitions. Peter has completed the Canadian Securities Course and has served in various capacities, including Chair, with the Securities Law subsection of the Canadian Bar Association (Alberta North). Peter has completed the Directors Education Program (DEP) jointly developed and conducted by the Institute of Corporate Directors (ICD) and the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto and achieved the related ICD.D designation from the Institute of Corporate Directors (ICD). The DEP and the ICD.D programming and designation demonstrate Peter's desire to stay current, and to be a more effective advisor and director and help Peter be better at what he does, including creating better boards and better businesses. Peter is a longtime member of the organizing committee for the Annual Day of Golf for the Cross Cancer Institute in support of cancer research and treatment initiatives in Alberta, including the Cross Cancer Institute in Edmonton, presently organized by the Cure Cancer Foundation, which has been staging feature events since 1985, together numerous other companion events and initiatives. He also has been involved in supporting various sports groups, including the Multi-Sport Tournament and Recreation Site Board of Edmonton (MTRS of Edmonton), non-profit society manager of the Multi-Sport Tournament & Recreation Site (MTRS), also known as the Ivor Dent Sports Park, a 138-acre multi-sport 24-field complex in southeast Edmonton partnering the City of Edmonton with the Nor'Westers Athletic Association (NWAA), Edmonton Minor Soccer Association (EMSA), MTRS Club Soccer (Southwest United Sports Club and Knights of Columbus Trojan Soccer Association) and Punjab United Sports & Heritage Association (PUSHA). He has also supported SWAT Hockey and South West Zone Hockey, both as a lawyer and as a coach and volunteer and is also a past-member of the board of the Edmonton Mennonite Centre for Newcomers (EMCN), a charitable society supporting the integration of newcomers to Edmonton.
