Gregorio Canales Bio

Gregorio G. Canales is the founding partner of the Monterrey office and has extensive experience in different areas of law such as corporate law, mergers and acquisitions, cross-border financing, complex international transactions, contract manufacturing (IMMEX), trade, energy and real estate. During his long career, he has advised foreign companies that conduct business in Mexico, as well as Mexican corporations that conduct business abroad. He has served as the Mexican advisor of the Board of Directors at the World Bank. As well as the Minister for Legal Affairs at the Mexican Embassy in the United States of America. (During original NAFTA negotiations). He also worked as a foreign associate for two major US law firms on the east and west coasts. Mr. Canales has been a professor at the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (EGADE), Assistant Professor in International Law at the Escuela Libre de Derecho and has participated as member of the editorial board of the business section of the Grupo Reforma newspapers. Among other activities, Mr. Canales currently is the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Korea in Northern Mexico.
