Valerie Faeth Bio

Valerie is a Shareholder in the Firm’s Employment and Labor Group. She focuses her practice on employment litigation and providing advice to clients on all aspects of employment law. Throughout her career, Valerie has defended a diverse range of clients in employment cases involving claims under Title VII, the Americans with Disability Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Family Medical Leave Act, the Equal Pay Act, the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Act and the Pennsylvania Human Relations Act. She has also defended clients against administrative charges and complaints before the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Pennsylvania Human Relations Commission, the City of Pittsburgh Commission on Human Relations, the U.S. Department of Labor Wage and Hour Division and Pennsylvania Department of Labor Wage and Hour Division. Additionally, Valerie provides labor and employment advice to the Firm’s M&A Group with respect to transactional matters, including mergers, acquisitions and divestitures. She also drafts employment, severance and restrictive covenant agreements in connection with business transactions. Valerie also routinely counsels clients on hiring, performance and conduct issues, FMLA compliance, ADA accommodations and compliance, WARN Act compliance, group terminations under the OWBPA, background checks and drug and alcohol testing. Further, she conducts and oversees investigations of alleged employee misconduct and provides supervisory and employee training on a variety of employment matters.
