David Prechtel serves as outside general counsel for privately held and publicly traded companies, with unique experience in the areas of healthcare and financial institutions. As outside general counsel, David helps clients with the evolving structure and governance needs of their businesses. He also works with clients to expand their businesses through internal growth and strategic acquisitions. He regularly assists both private and public companies in their capital formation initiatives to accelerate growth. Specifically, David serves as outside general counsel to physician groups and related ancillary facilities, providing business, corporate and regulatory advice. He helps negotiate their relationships with hospitals and third-party payors and assists with their other business needs. When working with healthcare clients, he understands the unique business and regulatory challenges they face. David has been instrumental in building the firm’s financial institutions practice, having been involved in the industry since the 1980s. He has helped clients through the evolution of intrastate and interstate bank consolidation regulation and its impact on the industry. He assists clients with mergers and acquisitions, securities law compliance and other general transactional needs. David is a leader within the firm, having previously served on the Dentons Bingham Greenebaum's (formerly Bingham Greenebaum and Doll) Management Committee and as chair of its Corporate and Transactional Practice Group.
